Petropavlovsk Faces Water Shortage After Pump Station Accident

in News / Kazakhstan - by

Petropavlovsk is experiencing a water shortage due to an accident at a pump station. The mayor of Petropavlovsk, Serik Mukhamediev, took to Instagram on April 12 to provide details of the incident.

He explained that the pump station, which was powered by four independent power lines, suffered damage to its poles due to ice masses. As a result, water supply to the city has been restricted. An emergency team is on site working to resolve the issue, with completion expected within four hours, according to the mayor. He urged residents to remain calm and trust only official sources for information.

Temporary water supply arrangements are being made for social facilities and residents of the city. On April 10, the mayor of the North Kazakhstan Region addressed residents regarding a significant influx of water heading towards Petropavlovsk.
