The Ministry of Agriculture in Kazakhstan has reached out to farmers regarding floods and the upcoming planting season. The official representative of the Ministry, Olzhas Tlebaldin, highlighted the reports of flooding at grain storage facilities, where farmers stored seeds for the upcoming planting season during a briefing on April 16.
Tlebaldin emphasized the importance for farmers to protect their property from risks in case of flooding, including seeds, agricultural machinery, livestock, and other belongings. He also mentioned that the national company "Prodcorporation" and agricultural experimental stations have sufficient grain reserves for the planting season. "Prodcorporation" is ready to provide affected farmers with seeds on deferred payment terms.
In regions of Kazakhstan, the flood situation remains challenging. The second wave of floods is approaching in the North Kazakhstan region. Meteorologists also predict a rise in water levels in rivers in the East Kazakhstan, Abay, Turkestan, and Almaty regions, which could lead to flooding of roads and residential areas. Farmers in need of seeds are advised to contact the Ministry of Agriculture's hotline numbers.
This proactive approach by the Ministry aims to support farmers during these difficult times, ensuring that they can carry out the planting season successfully despite the challenges posed by the ongoing floods in various regions of Kazakhstan.
