The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan provided an update on the situation at water reservoirs as of April 25. Water released from the Irtysh reservoir in Russia continues to flow through Kazakhstan, mainly along the Zhaiyk River through the city of Uralsk, as the spring flood is ongoing.

Specialists from the Western Kazakhstan branch of "Kazvodkhoz" are safely managing the passage of floodwaters and filling four reservoirs of the Ural-Kushum irrigation system. Currently, these reservoirs hold 226 million cubic meters of water, which is 87% of their total capacity.

Additionally, four reservoirs along the Maly Uzen River are filled to 91%, approximately 102 million cubic meters of water. Three reservoirs along the Bolshoy Uzen River have collected 69 million cubic meters of water, 66% of their total capacity. The flood on the Bolshoy and Maly Uzen Rivers has subsided.

Water levels in various rivers were also provided: the Zhaiyk River in Uralsk is at 859 cm, the Shagan River in Chuvashinsky Bayterek district is at 739 cm, and the Derkul River in Beles settlement is at 231 cm.

The Ministry mentioned ongoing information exchange with water services in the Orenburg and Saratov regions of Russia.

In Akmolinsk region, the Astana and Seletinsk reservoirs are at full capacity. They are operating normally, with controlled water discharge into the Esil River. In North Kazakhstan region, two major reservoirs are full, and the overflow height at the Sergeyevsk reservoir dam has decreased. The water level in the Esil River near Petropavlovsk is at 1300 cm.

The situation remains tense in the region. In Aktobe region, two major reservoirs are 97% full, operating normally. In East Kazakhstan region, the average filling level of two major reservoirs is around 81.6%.

In Abai region, the Shulbinsk reservoir is 54% full, with ongoing spring flooding. Due to increased tributaries, releases are continuing. The Ertis Cascade reservoirs are operating normally.

In Karaganda region, three major reservoirs are at 98.5% capacity, all functioning normally.

In Kostanay region, the average filling level of two major reservoirs is 92%, operating normally.
