Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aibek Smadiyarov revealed whether the Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak and blogger Natalya Grace had applied to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan for accreditation to attend the trial of Kuandyk Bishimbayev.
On April 29, the official representative Aibek Smadiyarov shared this information during a briefing.
"Neither the first nor the second one applied for accreditation. You can clarify in what capacity they are present at the trial with the court representatives," said Aibek Smadiyarov.
On April 22, the Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak unexpectedly appeared at the trial of former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev. The host was observing the proceedings directly in the courtroom where the hearing was taking place. Footage with Natalya Grace, who also visited the court, appeared on social media.
Sobchak later commented on her presence in Astana at the trial.
