Kazakhstan's Reservoir Update: Water Levels Reach Full Capacity in Several Regions

In the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan on April 30, an update on the current situation at the country's reservoirs was provided.

According to the official representative of the department, Moldir Abdualiyeva, four major reservoirs in the West Kazakhstan region are filled to an average of 88.5%. The water level of the Zhaiyk River in Uralsk is at 828 cm, decreasing by 10 cm in the past day.

"In the Akmola region, the Astana and Seletinsk reservoirs are at full capacity, 100%. In the North Kazakhstan region, two major reservoirs are also at full capacity, 100%," stated Moldir Abdualiyeva during a briefing.

Meanwhile, in the Aktobe region, the average fill level of the two major reservoirs is at 97%. In the East Kazakhstan region, the average fill level of the two major reservoirs has reached about 83%. In the Abay region, the Shulbinsk reservoir is filled to 39%.

"In the Karaganda region, three major reservoirs are at 98.5% capacity. In the Kostanay region, the average fill level of the two major reservoirs is at 92%," added Moldir Abdualiyeva.

She mentioned that the water collected in the reservoirs will be utilized in agriculture and industry.
