The Astana Airport will be closed for aircraft arrivals and departures from May 1st to December 24th.
The airport's website notes that changes are being made to the schedule of certain flights operated to and from Astana due to the closure.
"This measure is related to the major overhaul of the runway. From May 1st, 2024, until the completion of the repairs, the airport will be closed for aircraft operations from 22:00 to 6:00 local time," the statement reads.
Passengers are advised by the airport to adjust their travel dates in advance and utilize all available sources of information, such as airline information services, apps, airport services, and notifications sent by airlines.
Earlier, it was reported that in accordance with the directive of the Civil Aviation Committee, the aviation security service at the international airports of Astana and Almaty has been put on high alert.
