Supreme Court of Kazakhstan to Broadcast Live Trial of Ambulance Driver Attacker

The Supreme Court of Kazakhstan has decided to broadcast another high-profile court case live.

The case revolves around an attack on an ambulance driver in Karaganda.

"The next court hearing on a criminal case against the defendant, accused of hooliganism involving violence against an ambulance driver, will take place today, on May 2, 2024, at 11:00 in Karaganda," the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced.

The online broadcast of the court proceedings can be viewed on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court.

In January 2024, a man in Karaganda assaulted an ambulance driver after a brief argument. The incident took place in the courtyard of a residential building. A resident of the building was unhappy that the driver had parked the ambulance near the entrance. He confronted the driver, leading to an altercation that resulted in the driver suffering a concussion, multiple fractures of the nose bones, contusions, and hematomas. The suspect fled the scene after the incident.

The trial is already underway. During one of the hearings, the victim requested compensation of 5 million tenge for material and moral damages from the assailant.
