Over 43,000 People Return Home as Flood Situation Improves in Kazakhstan

43,015 people have returned to their homes since the beginning of the floods in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that 6,338 Kazakhstanis are still staying in evacuation centers.

So far, water has been drained from 7,710 private residential houses and 2,844 yards.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated, "The Hotline has received 2,261 calls."

In the Atyrau region, monitoring of the water level in the Zhaiyk River is ongoing. Drone technology is being used to monitor the flood situation, while shoreline strengthening works are being carried out. In the past day, water has been drained and pumped out from 70 houses, and 202,000 sandbags have been laid.

In the East Kazakhstan region, the water level in the Bukhtarma and Kishi Ulba rivers has risen due to rain. A task force from the Department of Emergency Situations, the military unit 68303 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Disaster Medicine Center has been deployed to the Altai and Glubokovsky districts. Aerial surveillance is being conducted.

Overall, more than 14,000 people and 1,529 pieces of equipment, including 226 water pumping units, 100 boats, and 6 aircraft, are involved in emergency rescue and flood control operations.

It was previously reported that the water level in the Ural River in the Atyrau region continues to rise.
