The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published information on the flood situation as of 19:00.

According to the report, water has been drained from 7763 private residential houses and 2874 courtyard territories across the republic.

It is known that the North Kazakhstan region is actively working on eliminating the consequences of the floods. Karaganda rescuers have joined the efforts to pump water from the private yards in the village of Teplichnoye. The Emergency Situations Department staff have been present in the region since April 7, previously participating in emergency rescue operations.

Meanwhile, in the Makhamber district of the Atyrau region, MES RK military personnel continue round-the-clock embankment reinforcement works. The soldiers of the military unit 52 859 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been involved in anti-flood measures for over a month.

Earlier, during a plenary session of the Mazhilis on May 2, Deputy Abzal Kuspan expressed his views on who should be held responsible for the massive floods in Kazakhstan.

In his appeal to the Prosecutor General Berik Asylov, he noted that the floods this year mark the tenth largest flood since Kazakhstan gained independence.
