Warehouse Fire in Talgar, Almaty Region - Emergency Services Contain Blaze

On May 2 at 18:54, a report of a warehouse fire was received at line 101 of the communication point SPCh-2 in Talgar.

It was determined that the warehouse on Raiymbek Street in the village of Besagash was on fire. The fire department responded to the scene promptly.

The fire was said to have started in a workshop for manufacturing plastic windows and in storage areas for consumer goods. The Fire Investigation and Inquiry Department of the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty Region is currently working on-site to determine the cause of the fire. The fire was contained by 20:26.

The press service of the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty Region reported that a total of 31 personnel and 13 pieces of equipment from the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty Region, nine personnel and two pieces of equipment from the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty, six personnel and two pieces of equipment, three workers and one piece of equipment from the Ambulance and Emergency Medical Services Department were involved in extinguishing the fire.

The extent of the fire is still being assessed.

Earlier on May 2, firefighters managed to extinguish a fire that broke out in storage areas in Almaty, saving the goods stored there.
