in News / Kazakhstan - by

A fire broke out along the shores of the Caspian Sea in the Kurmangazy forestry of the Atyrau region, Kazakhstan, on March 2nd, raging until March 10th. The blaze, which initially covered 100 hectares, quickly spread to engulf 2500 hectares of reed beds.

Efforts to contain the fire involved 58 personnel and 21 pieces of equipment. It was finally brought under control on March 9th at 18:30, with complete extinguishment achieved by March 10th at 11:00.

The challenging terrain, characterized by swampy areas, complicated firefighting operations, leading to a gradual increase in the fire's scope over the days. The fire, located 40 km from the village of Kurmangazy, posed a significant threat before the successful containment efforts.

In a separate incident on the same day, a workshop within a residential building caught fire in Taraz, further highlighting the importance of swift response and effective firefighting measures in preventing widespread damage.
