Water Levels in Zhayyq River Rising, Atyrau Region on Alert

May 19th: The Emergency Situations Headquarters of the Atyrau Region has released information about the water level in the Zhayyq River in the region.

Changes in the water level in the Zhayyq River on May 19th, 08:00 (compared to May 18th, 08:00):

  • In the village of Inderbor, a decrease of 6 cm was recorded, with the water level at 1021 cm and a critical level of 845 cm.
  • In the village of Makhambet, an increase of 3 cm was reported, with the water level at 1011 cm and a critical level of 850 cm.
  • In the city of Atyrau, a 4 cm rise was observed, with the water level at 570 cm and a critical level of 550 cm.
  • In the village of Zhanatalap, a 2 cm increase was noted, with the water level at 412 cm and a maximum level of 500 cm.
  • In the village of Erkinkala, a 2 cm rise was registered, with the water level at 370 cm and a critical level of 450 cm.

At 8:00 on May 19th, movement was restricted on two sections of the republican highway "Atyrau – Uralsk" in the Atyrau Region. The day before, the regional headquarters reported that the road was being eroded.
