Earthquake Strikes East Kazakhstan Region with Magnitude 4.4, No Reported Impact

On May 27 at 11:12:34, the seismic network of the TOO "NNCSN and I" MCHS RK registered an earthquake in the East Kazakhstan Region.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 986 km northeast of the city of Almaty. The earthquake had an energy class of 9.6 and a magnitude of MPV 4.4. The coordinates of the epicenter were 50.70° N, 83.81° E, with a depth of 5 km.

There have been no reports of the earthquake being felt in Kazakhstan.

Prior to this event, rescuers had reminded the public of the safety rules to follow in case of an earthquake.
