Authorities in Kazakhstan foil attempts to smuggle undeclared cash out of the country

From March 11 to 13, individuals tried four times to smuggle undeclared cash amounting to 21.4 million tenge through the Horgos customs post. All violators were held accountable under administrative responsibility.

According to the Customs Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cash and/or traveler's checks must be declared if the total amount exceeds the equivalent of 10,000 US dollars at the exchange rate on the day of submission to the customs authority.

The Press Service of the Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan highlighted that as of March 14, 2022, the export of foreign currency exceeding the equivalent of 10,000 US dollars is prohibited in Kazakhstan.
