Scat Airlines Plane Damages Landing Gear in Astana Airport Incident

in News / Kazakhstan - by

On March 14, a Scat Airlines plane flying from Shymkent to Astana experienced damage to its landing gear upon landing at Astana Airport. The incident was reported by the press service of the capital's airport.

After the landing of the B737-800 aircraft, foreign objects were discovered on the runway. Following standard procedures, the airport services conducted an inspection and removed parts of the aircraft's landing gear from the runway. Fortunately, no damage to the airport's infrastructure was found.

During a post-flight inspection, the engineering team of Scat Airlines identified damage to the left landing gear of the aircraft. The information was promptly reported to the relevant civil aviation authority. However, the incident did not disrupt the airport's flight operations, and it continues to operate normally.

This incident comes after reports of a snow collapse causing disruptions at Almaty Airport, highlighting the challenges airports in Kazakhstan are facing due to adverse weather conditions.
