The Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan has reported a buildup of individuals and vehicles at exit points from Kazakhstan on the border with Uzbekistan.
According to the agency, this congestion is due to the departure of mainly foreign citizens from the country for the celebration of Nauryz Meiram, as well as the ongoing reconstruction of several checkpoints including "Kaplanbek," "Tazhen," "Atameken," and "Kazygurt."
"The passage through the state border is being carried out in a normal mode, measures have been taken to control the situation at the checkpoints," the statement said.
Earlier, the Committee of State Revenues (CSR) of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan on March 18, 2024, discussed whether the automobile checkpoints on the border with China would be operational.
