in National Security / Kazakhstan - by

On March 23, an emergency meeting of the Security Council of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The reason for the meeting was the terrorist attack in Russia that claimed the lives of over a hundred innocent civilians.

President Tokayev once again condemned the brutal act of violence against peaceful people in the Moscow region and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's solidarity with Russia in the fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, plans of action for law enforcement agencies and local executive bodies were discussed, along with coordination issues in extreme situations. The President issued directives to strengthen security measures for the citizens of Kazakhstan and enhance cooperation with other countries and international organizations to combat terrorism.

Earlier, President Tokayev had stated that Kazakhstan strongly condemns the terrorist act in Moscow.

On March 22, individuals in camouflage attire stormed the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, opening fire with automatic weapons just minutes before a concert by the rock band "Picnic". According to the latest official data from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, 115 people lost their lives in the attack, with the number of casualties expected to rise.
