The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) is working around the clock to coordinate rescue operations, maneuvering personnel and equipment. The MES press service has established direct communication with the akims of regions, as well as the top officials of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the night of March 28, military transport aviation from the Ministry of Defense airlifted servicemen to Military Unit 28237 of the MES from Almaty. Additional forces have been deployed to address the aftermath of floods in the West Kazakhstan region.
Minister of Emergency Situations Chingis Arinov took to the department's Instagram page to provide updates on the flood situation in the country.
