in National Security / Kazakhstan - by

Specialists from "KazAvtoZhola" have reported that due to floods, traffic restrictions are imposed on four highways of national importance in four regions: Aktobe, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar.

As of April 3, 2024, at 08:00, incidents with melting water overflowing onto the roadway were recorded on two sections of international and national highways due to warming weather and rapid snowmelt, spanning 109 meters in two regions (Akmola, Kostanay). Traffic restrictions affect four highways in four regions (Aktobe, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar) covering a total of 196 km, according to the department's statement.

Currently, 283 pieces of equipment and 319 personnel are involved on the national roads.

Earlier, it was reported that rescuers are evacuating people due to the influx of water at the Sazdin reservoir. In Uralsk, due to rising water levels above the critical point on the Derkul and Shagan rivers since April 2, some residential and country houses are being flooded. Evacuation of residents is underway, with rescuers urging people not to panic.
