Increasing Water Levels Prompt Evacuations in Kazakhstan

in National Security / Kazakhstan - by

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan has initiated evacuations near the Sazdinsky reservoir in Aktobe due to rising water inflow. So far, 25 individuals, including 9 children, have been safely relocated. The increased water inflow has led to heightened water discharge, raising water levels in the Sazdy and Zhinishke rivers, with a possibility of further increases. The Department of Emergency Situations is proactively evacuating residents from nearby villages to ensure their safety.

In a related development, Uralsk is experiencing flooding as water levels on the Derkul and Shagan rivers surpass critical levels since April 2nd, leading to the inundation of some residential and vacation homes. Evacuations are underway, with rescuers urging residents to remain calm and cooperate during this challenging situation.
