Investigation into Bek Air Fokker-100 Plane Crash in Almaty Airport Concluded

The Department of Police on Transport, in coordination with the procedural prosecutor, has announced the completion of investigative actions in the criminal case regarding the crash of the Fokker-100 aircraft of Bek Air at Almaty Airport.

The crash of the plane occurred on December 27, 2019. According to the General Transport Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan, over 4,000 investigative actions have been carried out, including 2,000 inspections, 1,350 interrogations, and 250 seizures, along with 150 judicial examinations and special investigations. Currently, the process participants are reviewing the materials of the pre-trial investigation, as stated in the message on April 3, 2024.

It is noted that within the framework of international cooperation, with the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, requests for international legal assistance from foreign states such as Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and others have been fulfilled, providing necessary legal and technical information relevant to the case.

The passenger plane crash of Bek Air occurred on the morning of December 27, 2019, near Almaty. The Fokker-100 aircraft, on the Almaty - Astana route, lost altitude during takeoff and broke through a concrete fence.
