The Ministry of Health is closely monitoring the epidemiological situation during the flood season. The work of the sanitary-epidemiological service (SES) has been intensified.
The Ministry of Health has stated that Kazakhstan is experiencing a stable epidemiological situation regarding infections, with typical growth during the flood period.
"In order to prevent infectious diseases, the SES is intensifying control over drinking water supply. Over 4,000 samples of drinking water have been collected and tested for sanitary-chemical and microbiological indicators since the beginning of the floods. Laboratory monitoring results show no risks of waterborne infectious disease outbreaks," the statement reads.
Specialists from the National Center for Public Health have been dispatched to regions to assist in conducting preventive and anti-epidemic measures during the flood period, aiming to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases in flooded areas.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health issued guidance on avoiding infectious diseases during floods.
