The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan has reported that, according to preliminary estimates, 2810 residential buildings in the Zhyluoy district have been flooded. To address the consequences of the flood, 231 pieces of equipment, 1198 personnel, 18 watercraft, and 19 motor pumps have been deployed.
A total of 33,641 people have been evacuated from the city of Kulsary in the Atyrau region, with 201 temporary accommodation centers set up to receive them. A total of 84 distress calls have been received, resulting in the rescue of 173 individuals, including 15 children. Additionally, 248 domestic animals and 27 pets have been evacuated.
Furthermore, humanitarian aid is being sent to the Zhyluoy district from across the country, including rubber boots, bags, food supplies, and other essential items. All incoming humanitarian aid is being directed to the city of Kulsary and the Tengiz camp, where the evacuated individuals are currently located.
Prior to this, samples of water were taken by sanitary epidemiologists for chemical analysis in the Zhyluoy district.
