Flood Situation Update in Aktobe Region by Deputy Akim Asylbek Yesenbayev

Deputy Akim of Aktobe Region, Asylbek Yesenbayev, provided an update on the current flood situation in the region on April 9, 2024. He noted that the water level in the Kargalinsk reservoir had risen in the past two to three days due to precipitation. As of different time points on April 8, the water level was recorded at various cubic meter levels. Monitoring of the reservoir's water level is being conducted every two hours.

Yesenbayev mentioned that the overall flood situation in the region is currently stable. However, 695 subscribers in 27 settlements are still without electricity, with 500 being temporarily supplied through generators. Additionally, due to flooding and erosion of road sections, road communication has been temporarily disrupted with 11 settlements. Restoration efforts are ongoing, with the roundabout interchange in the direction of Alga - Karabulak already opened and communication towards Alga - Beskop set to be restored.

He highlighted that a significant number of residential houses, buildings, structures, yards, and summer houses were affected by the floods. To assess the material damage, individual commissions have been established in each district, with ongoing assessment work for the 2652 received applications. Furthermore, 206 individuals from families facing severe situations due to the floods have received a one-time social payment totaling 64 million tenge, with efforts continuing in this regard.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 29 local-scale emergencies are still ongoing in nine regions of the country, including Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Akmola, Karaganda, Atyrau, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions.
