Interpol Kazakhstan Detains Chinese Citizens Wanted Internationally

The National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with criminal police officers at Almaty Airport, detained citizens of the People's Republic of China who were internationally wanted.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 9th, one of the detainees was sought by Chinese law enforcement authorities for extorting money from over 100 vendors at the Daoli district market in the city of Harbin in exchange for providing "protection."

"The suspect attempted to enter Kazakhstan from Vietnam via Qatar. The second man was wanted by law enforcement authorities in Saudi Arabia for committing a large-scale theft of jewelry from well-known stores in the city of Riyadh. The damage amounts to over 200,000 US dollars," the department's statement said.

Currently, the suspects are in custody, and the issue of their extradition is being addressed.

On April 8th, it was reported that a foreigner with a fake passport was identified at Almaty Airport and immediately deported.
