in National Security / Kazakhstan - by

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Kazakhstan has regained a function that was abolished 20 years ago. The corresponding law was signed by the head of state last week.

On April 10, 2024, the Committee of the Fire Service of the MES of the Republic of Kazakhstan clarified that by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Business Conduct," state fire service authorities have once again been entrusted with the function of oversight in the field of fire safety.

According to a statement, this oversight will enable the authorities to ensure that controlled objects adhere to fire safety requirements, with the power to suspend them in case of violations that pose a threat to the lives, health, and national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The President of Kazakhstan signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Business Conduct" on April 6, 2024.
