The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation provided an update on the hydro situation in Kazakhstan's reservoirs. In the Kostanay region, the flood peak has passed, and water inflow is decreasing, with the average capacity of two major reservoirs at 92%, holding 489 million cubic meters for agricultural use.

In North Kazakhstan, two major reservoirs are at full capacity, and the flood peak at the Sergeyevskoye reservoir is still expected. Kazvodkhoz specialists are working around the clock to regulate the flow.

West Kazakhstan has four major reservoirs at 68% capacity on average, preparing for a second flood wave along the Zhaiyk River. East Kazakhstan's three major reservoirs are at 84.6% capacity, with increased water inflow anticipated, leading to floods this week.

In the Akmola region, two major reservoirs are at 99% capacity, operating in transit mode with hourly monitoring during the ongoing flood. In Aktobe region, two major reservoirs are at 98% capacity, with stable conditions after the flood, collecting over 218 million cubic meters for future agricultural use.

Meanwhile, in the Karaganda region, four major reservoirs are full, having collected over 192 million cubic meters during the flood for agricultural purposes. The Ministry emphasizes continuous 24/7 monitoring and hourly assessments at all sites.

Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, is currently in West Kazakhstan overseeing the safe passage of floodwaters and the collection of meltwater in reservoirs.
