No Presence of Siberian Plague Found in Soil Samples from Flooded Burial Sites in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Agriculture disclosed the results of soil samples from Siberian plague burial sites affected by flooding. According to Samat Tyulegenov, the Acting Chairman of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, PCR analyzes and bacteriological studies were conducted on each sample taken in the Republican Veterinary Laboratory and the National Veterinary Reference Center.

"Based on the laboratory findings, the presence of the Siberian plague pathogen was not detected in the soil samples taken. I would also like to note that active planned vaccination against Siberian plague, anthrax, and other highly dangerous diseases is being carried out in all regions of the country," highlighted Samat Tyulegenov. The specialist emphasized that the overall epidemiological situation in the country remains stable.

Earlier, the Veterinary Department of the West Kazakhstan Region stated that eight cattle burial sites and 14 Siberian plague burial sites were flooded during the region's floods.
