The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with Turkish authorities and with the support of the National Security Committee and the Embassy of Kazakhstan, has apprehended an individual who was on an international wanted list through Interpol's NCB at the request of Interpol.
The individual was wanted for economic smuggling, resulting in damages exceeding 56 million tenge. Investigations revealed that in 2017, the suspect and accomplices illegally exported precious metal - gold from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Turkey. The man was apprehended by the police department on transport initiative. Subsequently, the detainee has been deported and placed in custody in Almaty. Previously, it was announced that the leader of a criminal group was extradited from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan.
