President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Minister of Defense of China, Dong Junya. The Kazakhstani leader emphasized that the Kazakh-Chinese relations are at the highest level - a perpetual comprehensive strategic partnership.
As stated in the message from Akorda for April 25, 2024, Tokayev believes that Kazakhstan and China share similar views on key regional and international security issues.
"We support constructive dialogue and mutual support within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia. We highly appreciate and support the initiatives proposed by China for global development, security, and civilization. I believe they will make a positive contribution to strengthening the modern architecture of international security."
Moreover, the Minister thanked Tokayev for his hospitality and noted the high level of preparation for the meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
During the meeting, both sides expressed interest in developing peacekeeping, educational, and military-technical cooperation.
