The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on April 25th that a large amount of water is smoothly moving from the West Kazakhstan region to the Atyrau region.

The ministry emphasized that the situation in the West Kazakhstan region is stabilizing.

"The water level in the Zhaiyk River is gradually decreasing. Active efforts are underway in the region to eliminate the consequences of the floods. It is also worth noting that yesterday, at the direction of the Minister of Emergency Situations, Chingis Arinov, a rescue team from the Mangystau and Karaganda regions left West Kazakhstan for the Atyrau region, where the threat of a second wave of floods persists," the statement said.

Earlier, it was reported that footage of the rescue of residents of Uralsk from flooded houses was published by the police on April 25th. Police officers literally carried residents of the city out of the flooded houses to safety.
