In Kazakhstan, changes in the operation of border checkpoints on May 1, 7, and 9, 2024, are expected. This information was shared by the press service of the National Security Committee (NSC). According to a statement released on April 30, on May 1, 7, and 9, 2024, the passage of individuals, vehicles, and goods at the automobile border checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will be temporarily suspended, except for the International Border Cooperation Center "Khorgos" and the railway border checkpoints.

Additionally, due to ongoing reconstruction, the border checkpoint "Kaplanbek" on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border is closed, with movement of individuals and vehicles restricted at the "Tazhen," "Atameken," and "Kazygurt" checkpoints.

It is noted that the border checkpoints on the Russian, Kyrgyz, and Turkmen directions are operating normally. The NSC press service has urged citizens to plan their routes in advance.

On April 27, 2024, the Border Service of the NSC announced the resumption of operations at the automobile border checkpoint "Zhelkuar" in the Kostanay region, which crosses the state border. Previously, it was closed due to flooding.
