Border Service of Kazakhstan Detains 3186 Violators and Prevents Smuggling

The Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan in April 2024, in cooperation with competent authorities, detained 3186 violators of the legislation of Kazakhstan in the border area.

Among them, 38 foreigners violated the border, while 29 attempted to do so, according to the press service of the National Security Committee.

Additionally, 1342 cases of illegal crossing of the state border were prevented, including:

  • 49 cases of narcotics - total weight exceeding 780 kg;
  • 36 cases of weapons and ammunition;
  • 38 cases of religious literature (842 copies);
  • 341 cases of petroleum products (over 133 tons) with a total value of over 12 million tenge;
  • 744 cases of consumer goods with a total value of over 3.4 billion tenge;
  • 134 cases of currency with a total value of over 1.5 billion tenge.

The department noted that materials on these cases have been sent to law enforcement and judicial authorities to hold the violators accountable.

At the end of April 2024, the National Security Committee staff eliminated an international drug supply channel from distant foreign countries.
