In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, a service check will be conducted following the statement of the ex-counselor's wife of the Kazakhstan Ambassador to the UAE about systematic beatings, as reported.

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aibek Smadiyarov, stated during a briefing on May 13 that the ministry has taken the case under special control.

"The spouse of Karina Mamash was immediately recalled to the country, meaning on May 6, he flew from the embassy in the UAE to Kazakhstan. On May 9, after crossing the border, in accordance with the current legislation, he was relieved of his position. As you know, law enforcement agencies have already initiated a criminal case against him. The details of this case are unknown to us, and we do not have the right to interfere," said Aibek Smadiyarov.

He noted that he personally met with Karina Mamash and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan is providing her with all the necessary support.

"We are assisting Karina, I met with her personally, we discussed all the issues. She should not be afraid, we are with her, we will help in everything. The consul and our employees who were there acted according to the algorithm. They all did what was necessary. Both the employees and she have diplomatic immunity, and all necessary actions are taken upon returning to the territory," added Aibek Smadiyarov.

According to him, every year before going abroad, all embassy employees undergo a special psychological and neural commission. Therefore, following this statement, a service check will be conducted in the ministry.

"Recently, we launched another program in collaboration with the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, for all our employees to undergo testing for psychoemotional state, because for working abroad, a thorough selection is required," concluded Aibek Smadiyarov.

It became known on May 6, 2024, that Saken Mamash has been beating his wife for 10 years. At that time, the woman sought help from activists and shared her story on social media. She requested that her husband be stripped of his diplomat status and sent to prison.

Following the incident of beatings, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reacted, and the Astana police initiated a criminal case.
