In Kazakhstan, law enforcement officers in Shymkent have successfully apprehended a group of ten individuals who were negatively impacting the security situation in the region. According to the authorities, the criminals were involved in extortion, hooliganism, and criminal activities involving weapons.
The detained individuals, aged between 20 and 25 years old, had firearms, ammunition, and other material evidence seized during a search of their residences. The press service of the Shymkent Police Department confirmed the operation.
Furthermore, it was noted that investigations are ongoing regarding criminal activities committed by marginal youth in the region. Earlier, the National Security Committee announced the arrest of members of a criminal group. It was revealed that two residents of the Akmola region were extorting money from entrepreneurs under the auspices of foreign criminal authorities and attempting to establish criminal control over businesses in the "Burabai" resort area.
