As of 9:00 PM on March 17, 2024, due to worsening weather conditions, a traffic restriction has been imposed on a major road of republican significance in the Eastern Kazakhstan region.
The Eastern Kazakhstan region is home to a single road stretching 160 km, facing the threat of spontaneous snow avalanches:
Ust-Kamenogorsk - Altai - Ulken Naryn - Katon - Karagay - Rakhmanovskie Klyuchi - Ushanovskoe Village - Altai City (for all types of vehicles).
A total of 266 pieces of equipment and 298 personnel are involved in maintaining the roads of republican significance.
Earlier, "Kazhydromet" issued a storm warning for the territory of Kazakhstan on March 18. According to meteorologists' forecasts, strong winds and fog are expected in several regions of Kazakhstan.
