Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov commented on the situation regarding the earthquake in Almaty during a government meeting on March 5, 202. He stated that all services, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations, local authorities, and other government agencies, responded promptly to the event.

"In this instance, the sirens and alert system were activated in a timely manner. The city's population was evacuated to reception points. Fortunately, there is no significant damage. Currently, the situation is being assessed. It is necessary for the Ministry of Emergency Situations to ensure constant monitoring of the seismic situation in the country. Forces and resources need to be ready," said Olzhas Bektenov.

The head of the government emphasized the importance of continuing informational and explanatory work with the population. "The Ministry of Emergency Situations also needs to provide appropriate monitoring of mudflow and avalanche conditions in mountainous regions of the country. Measures should be taken to respond to emergencies when they arise."
