The alleged perpetrator of a fatal road accident in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region has been apprehended, as reported by the "Fontanka" publication.
The 27-year-old taxi driver from Kyrgyzstan was identified as the suspect.
According to the primary version of events, the taxi driver of a Skoda Rapid was making a turn at a controlled intersection on a green light but failed to yield to the oncoming Kia Sorento, which was also on a green light. The Kia vehicle crashed into a barrier, overturned, and its driver died as a result.
The police investigation in the Vsevolozhsky district has initiated a criminal case for violating traffic rules under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
