The detention of the former deputy head of the Antimonopoly Service, Akzholtoi Tukunov, as a suspect has been deemed unlawful and unjustified by the Alamedin District Court. According to a statement, the investigative judge's ruling cited gross violations of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic in declaring Tukunov's detention as a suspect illegal and unfounded. As a preventive measure, Akzholtoi Tukunov has been placed under travel restrictions until June 16. Earlier reports had indicated the detention of Tukunov on suspicion of incitement to mass disorder.
