The Alamedin District Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal with the Chui Regional Court challenging the district court's decision declaring the detention of Akzholtoy Tukunov illegal.

Former deputy head of the Antimonopoly Service was released on a non-departure pledge.

The Chui Regional Police Department stated that the prosecution is requesting the court to change the preventive measure for Akzholtoy Tukunov to detention in Bishkek's pre-trial detention center.

The date of the court hearing is currently unknown.

The district court previously stated that the detention of the former deputy head of the Antimonopoly Service, Akzholtoy Tukunov, as a suspect, was deemed illegal and unjustified.

According to the court's decision on April 19, 2024, the detention of A.S. Tukunov as a suspect was deemed illegal and unjustified due to serious violations of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Akzholtoy Tukunov was subjected to a preventive measure of a non-departure pledge until June 16.

Earlier reports mentioned the arrest of the former deputy head of the Antimonopoly Service, Akzholtoy Tukunov, on suspicion of incitement to mass unrest.
