During a session of the social policy committee, the director of the judicial department at the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, Urmat Kozhombirdiyev, revealed that there are 53,548 enforcement orders for alimony payments.
According to him, all of these cases involve malicious non-payers of alimony who have been delinquent for months or even years. Under current legislation, individuals who fail to pay alimony are subject to fines or community service sentences.
