Severe Flooding Hits Several Regions in Kyrgyzstan

Since April 20, 46 villages in the Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad, and Talas regions have been affected by flooding. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Urmatbek Shamyrkanov, announced this during a briefing.

He stated that a state of emergency has been declared in the Osh, Jalal-Abad (Nookat district), and Talas regions. Shamyrkanov described the damage caused by the mudflows.

In the Osh region, 171 household plots have been flooded, with 28 homes and a school affected, but no cases of mudflows entering homes. In the Jalal-Abad region, 102 household plots of houses and schools have been flooded.

In the Talas region, 202 household plots and one school have been affected by flooding.
