City Hall to Transfer 10 Passenger Buses to Bishkek Police Department

in News / Kyrgyzstan - by

The City Hall of Bishkek plans to transfer 10 YUTONG model ZK6108HGH 2019 passenger buses to the Bishkek Police Department, following a draft resolution by the capital's government that is currently open for public discussion.

The decision to transfer the buses was prompted by a request from the Bishkek Police Department on November 9, 2023, to enhance the material and technical resources of the city's main internal affairs department, police stations, patrol service, and patrol police management. This move aims to uphold public safety and order, as well as provide timely transportation for personnel to various events.

City Hall justifies the transfer by pointing out that the "Bishkek Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise" has already modernized its fleet with new buses and expects further growth through supply contracts. This ensures that assigning these ten buses to the Police Department will not hinder residents' or guests' access to transportation services.

The YUTONG buses, as per City Hall, are built for a 10-year service life and were put into operation in April 2019. The buses currently have mileage ranging from 199,328 kilometers to 266,867 kilometers, which is half of the manufacturer's specified service life.
