in News / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported landslides in several villages in the Jalal-Abad region. Heavy rainfall caused a landslide in the village of Atana Aksy district, resulting in flooding of 11 houses. In Kara-Kamysh, landslides have obstructed traffic on the Kara-Zhygach - Sary-Chelek highway.

An emergency response team, including three rescuers, a motor pump, and a loader, has been dispatched to the affected areas. Since April 20th, 46 landslides have occurred in Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad, and Talas regions, prompting a state of emergency in some areas. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives due to the natural disaster: one man whose car was swept away by a mudflow and a teenager struck by lightning.
