The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will host a business forum and annual meeting in Almaty on June 27-28, inviting representatives from multilateral development banks, international organizations, government bodies, businesses, academic, and expert circles. The event aims to facilitate partnerships and exchange analytical insights in addressing key regional challenges such as water-energy balance, development of transport-logistics routes, financial markets, and more.

The EDB's Chairman of the Management Board, Nikolay Podguzov, highlighted the importance of the event in creating potential partnerships and attracting new investments in the Eurasian region and Central Asian countries. The bank's previous successful organization of the annual meeting of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in the Asia-Pacific region in 2023 is a testament to its commitment to fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing.

This year, the bank will offer participants a dynamic program covering crucial regional challenges. Sessions will delve into topics such as investments and international cooperation as drivers of economic growth, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, Islamic finance in Central Asia, partnerships and projects for sustainable development in water, energy, and food sectors, the future of transportation innovations and infrastructure in Eurasia, digital technologies and innovations for the region, and more.

Additionally, attendees can expect presentations of new reports and research by the EDB, high-level meetings, and business negotiations to complement the event's program and provide a platform for exchanging views and experiences. The 2024 EDB annual meeting is a significant event fostering cooperation, knowledge exchange, and strengthening partnerships towards sustainable development in the Eurasian region.
