Bishkek will develop a new General Plan. This was announced by the chief architect of the capital, Urmat Karybaev, during a session of the Bishkek City Council.
Deputies inquired about the changes envisaged by Bishkekglavarkhitektura for the settlements that have been annexed to the city as part of the administrative-territorial reform.
Urmat Karybaev explained that due to the increased area of the capital, Bishkekglavarkhitektura is initiating the development of a new General Plan.
It is worth noting that the current General Plan of the capital was approved by the government decree in November 2006 and is valid until 2025.
In Kyrgyzstan, a pilot phase of administrative-territorial reform has been launched in six regions, Bishkek, and Osh. The area of the capital has expanded to 38.6 thousand hectares from 12.9 thousand.
The city's territory now includes various rural districts and residential complexes as part of the expansion.
