UNICEF's new representative in Kyrgyzstan, Samman Jung Tapa, has arrived in the country, as reported by the organization's press service.
The new representative brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of social policy development, child rights protection, and international development. In his role as the representative in Kyrgyzstan, he will work towards promoting children's rights to protection, development, and well-being as outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Samman Jung Tapa will continue to strengthen partnerships with the government, the international community, civil society, and the private sector to ensure that children in the country receive all the support they need to thrive.
Prior to this appointment, Samman Jung Tapa served as a regional advisor on social policy and social protection, providing technical guidance in this area for 20 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. With 16 years of experience working in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, he has been involved in poverty analysis, strengthening social protection systems, improving humanitarian assistance, and financing the social sector.
