Earthquake Rattles Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan; No Casualties Reported

On May 1st, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a 2.5 magnitude earthquake in Kyrgyzstan. According to the Seismology Institute, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Tajikistan today at 7:37 local time.

The earthquake with a magnitude of up to 2.5 was felt in the villages of Karamyk and Shibe in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region. It was located 18 kilometers southwest of Karamyk, 25 kilometers southwest of Shibe, and 105 kilometers southeast of Batken.

Preliminary information indicates that there have been no reports of destruction or casualties due to the earthquake.
