Tragic Accident: 29 Children Injured by Truck at Festival in Kyrgyzstan

At a festive event in Djailoo in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region, a Porter truck crashed into 29 children, according to the regional police department.

The tragedy occurred during a competition of young manaschi in the village of Zherge-Tal in the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region. The event took place at Djailoo, where schoolchildren were reciting excerpts from the epic poem "Manas". During the recitation, a Porter truck crashed into the gathered teenagers.

"The Porter was supposed to distribute ice cream to the attendees from the side of the truck. According to the driver, he parked the vehicle above the location of the event. The reason why the truck rolled down and crashed into the children is currently unknown," noted the police.

As a result of the accident, 29 students from the middle school, aged 9 to 16, were taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity.

Three more children were brought to the Suzak regional hospital, eight children to the October center of general medical practice. Their condition is described as stable. The remaining 11 children received local assistance and were sent for outpatient treatment.

The head of the Ministry, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliyev, has taken personal control of the process.
