In the Naryn region, the competition of young manaschi has been canceled. The Ministry of Education and Science informed about this decision.
According to their information, the competition on Lake Issyk-Kul recently concluded, with only the one scheduled for today in Naryn remaining. However, all events have been canceled.
The competition of young manaschi in the village of Zherge-Tal of Suzak district in the Jalal-Abad region ended in tragedy. The event took place at the jailoo where schoolchildren recited excerpts from the epic "Manas". During the recitation, a truck Porter crashed into the gathering of teenagers.
Following the incident, the First Deputy Minister of Education flew to the scene overnight. Deputy Minister Muratbek Kasymaliev assured that all necessary assistance will be provided to the injured students and teacher.
It was noted that the request for the organization of the manaschi competition was made to the Minister by the director of the national theater "Manas" under the Ministry of Culture, referring to the Presidential Decree "On additional measures for comprehensive study and popularization of the trilogy of the epic 'Manas' - the invaluable spiritual heritage of the Kyrgyz people" dated April 22, 2022.
"A schedule of events, rules, and regulations were developed. The competition was supposed to take place in Zherge-Tal on April 24, but due to rain, the organizers, in collaboration with the local authorities, rescheduled it for May 2. According to the regulations, the organizers on-site bear the responsibility for the safety and health of the participants," stated Muratbek Kasymaliev.
It was mentioned that a similar competition was already held in 2023.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 34 people were injured in the village of Zherge-Tal. The driver has been detained.
